HISTORY

The calendula flower, or marigold, is easily cultivated in regions of the Mediterranean, where it blooms from April to early December. Wild calendula can also be found in fields and rural areas. Its seeds are scattered and sown by the wind and must survive extreme cold. The bright yellow or orange calendula flowers are also known for their staining properties. A yellow dye can be obtained by decoction and is often used in the food industry.
